Google are now showing recipes for food searches but only on mobile

Google has made an new update that now shows recipes when users search for types of food

Google have made a recent and useful update to their search results to show food recipes when a user searches for certain types of food.  This is a part of a new feature to help users get better results directly from within the Search Results.

Interestingly, the feature is only available for mobile searches at this stage, and it looks to be only on google.com.  Goto www.google.com/ncr  (on your mobile) and try it.

When you search for example "chicken" you get a carousel of recipes and the ability to filter further by type, eg slow cooker, fried etc. You can also view all.

Each recipe then provides details of the ingredients, cooking time and instructions.

It is not clear if the recipe links are sponsored or organic at this stage, but they are from popular food websites such as Food Network, NYT Cooking and Bon Appetit
